The Loras College Library is partnering with “All Community Reads” and the Carnegie-Stout Public Library to offer a reading group and discussion opportunity for the Loras College community. The book is Picking Cotton: Our Memoir of Injustice and Redemption, by Ronald Cotton, Jennifer Thompson-Cannino, and Erin Torneo.

cover of Picking Cotton bookAbout the Book:
When Jennifer Thompson was in college, she was brutally raped. She picked Ronald Cotton as her attacker out of a police lineup. Despite his claims of innocence, Cotton was found guilty and spent nearly 11 years in prison before he was exonerated by DNA. How to come to grips with this was overwhelming for Thompson until she reached out to Cotton and they worked through the forgiveness and healing process together. This is their story.

The discussion will be held on Wednesday, October 23, from Noon to 1:30pm in Room 131 of the Miller Academic Resource Center. To participate in the reading group and discussion pick up copy of the book at the Library Services Desk.
