Literature can take many forms: prose, poetry, scholarly articles, or plays.  There are many famous playwrights you might have heard of whose collections are featured in our library, such as Arthur Miller, Henrik Ibsen, Tennessee Williams, and, of course, the bard himself, William Shakespeare.

One Day Play posterLoras will have many new playwrights of their own on campus after the One-Day Play event hosted by the Loras Players’ Guild of St. Genesius this Friday and Saturday.  While those famous playwrights had unlimited time to work on their pieces, these students will only have 24 hours to come up with plays of their own, ranging anywhere from drama to comedy.  Though it can be fun to read plays, this type of writing is meant to be performed on stage, so feel free to check out their event Saturday night at 7:30 in the Hoffman Auditorium.  And don’t forget that our collections of plays are always here for you to check out when you’re in the mood for something dramatic.
