This summer we gained a new librarian: Marissa Krein is now our Instruction Coordinator & Assessment Librarian! Welcome, Marissa. Marissa will be our go-to for scheduling information literacy sessions, library instruction teaching, and assessment. Contact her at marissa.krein@loras.edu.

From Marissa:

"Arkansas born, Iowa raised Midwesterner. I spent the majority of my childhood in a small town in north central Iowa living out my Laura Ingalls Wilder dreams. Inspired by my love of history, I attended University of Northern Iowa where I received my BA and MA in history.  Wanting to pursue a career in archives, I also attended library school at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I look my first library job at the University of South Carolina Aiken in Aiken, SC, where I served as the Government Documents and Instruction Librarian. It was there that I developed my love of instruction and working with college students. When I found the job advertisement for an instruction and assessment librarian at Loras College, I jumped at the opportunity to pursue my passion and live closer to home. In my spare time, I love to explore different restaurants, wineries, and breweries. I also, of course, enjoy reading and my current favorite book is The Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly."
