How to Use EBooks

A guide to using the library's E-Book collection.

Create & Login to Your EBSCOhost Account

All EBSCO databases allow you to save items you find to a personal folder. The EBSCOhost personal folder will follow you from database to database if you stay logged in. You can save

  • items from a search results list
  • persistent links to searches
  • saved searches
  • search alerts and journal alerts

The items you save to your EBSCOhost folder remain in your folder until you remove them.

Note: You will also need a EBSCOhost account if you want to check out (download) eBooks.

Create Your Account

1. From within your EBSCOhost database, click on the "Sign In" link in the purple bar at the top.

2. From the sign-in screen, click the "Create a new Account" link.

3. You can opt to sign up using your google account or create a separate EBSCOhost account.  Fill in the fields, and then click Save Changes.

4. If all the information was accepted, a message will appear that provides your user name and password. Click OK. You will be automatically logged in as a personal user. Make a note of your user name and password so that you can log in at a future session.

Log In to Your Account

  1. From within any EBSCOhost databases, click the Sign In link.
  2. Enter your User Name and Password, and click Login.
  3. Once you're logged in, you see the My banner displayed across the top left corner of the page and your personal folder above the Sign Out link.
