How to Find Company Information

Industry Information

NAICS Codes

NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) codes are used to categorize business establishments by the products or services provided. They are helpful when searching for industry-based information. Each code is comprised of a series of numbers that represent an industry. As the numbers get longer, the industry becomes more specific.

A searchable listing of the NAICS codes are found at the U.S. Census Bureau website. Use the search feature to nail down the proper code for your search. On the left side of the screen under the heading NAICS Search, enter a keyword describing your industry (e.g. pet supplies, cat food manufacturing, smartphones, etc.). Review the results and choose a code that best matches your industry.
