A guide to the services available for faculty at Loras College. Find out who your librarians are, and how to schedule a library instruction session, get research assistance, and put a book on reserve.

Search Course Reserves

What is a course reserve?

An item owned by the Library or yourself that you have identified as necessary for multiple students in your class.

Why would I put an item on reserve?

The shorter check out lengths for reserve items ensures that everyone in your class has access to the item.

How long can reserve items be checked out?

That's up to you! We recommend:

  • 2 hours for students to read a chapter
  • 24 hours for DVDs and chapters that require intense reading
  • 48 hours for students to read multiple chapters

How do I put an item on reserve?

Fill out the Course Reserve Form below to request that items be put on the reserve shelf.

Please note that it can take up to 5 days to process your request and place the items on reserve. You will be notified when your items have been placed on reserve.
