Pope Francis' encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si, "On Care for our Common Home", was released on June 18, 2015. This much anticipated letter marks a significant addition to the topic of environmental stewardship within the tradition of Catholic Social Teaching. It is hoped by many to also mark a watershed moment in Catholic thought about humanity's relationship with the Earth and our consequent moral responsibilities.
