Organizing Time

To make better use of your time:

  1. Plan ahead: Consider what else is going on in your life over the next few months.
  2. Do a little every day: Do not assume you can get large tasks done in one evening.
  3. For early drafts, do “good enough”: Focus on making progress, polish later during final edits.
  4. Form an accountability group: Whether it is a classmate, friend, or family member, find someone to help you meet your goals.
  5. Try the Pomodoro Technique: Focus on a specific task and use a timer to break down the work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks.
